I took in Shelton at North Haven in Girls Softball Tuesday night.
This may have been one of the best games I've seen all year. It was a back and forth, see-saw game all night. Let me explain.
North Haven scored 2 runs in the 1st, Shelton answered with in the 2nd, North Haven added another run in the 3rd for a 3-1 lead, BUT the Gaels responded with 3 runs in the 4th for a 4-3 lead, North Haven got a run in the 5th to tie it at 4-4, and then came the dramatic 7th inning.
Shelton scored 2 runs with 2 outs to take a 6-4 lead, but hold the phone, the Nighthawks were not done. They scored 2 runs to tie it at 6, then scored the winning run on a Passed Ball and walked off with a 7-6 victory!
For North Haven: Alex Anquillare had 4 hits and scored 2 runs, Alyssa Ferriouolo had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had an rbi, Alyssa DiGiovanna had 3 hits and scored 2 runs, Chloe Belcher had a single and scored the winning run
For Shelton: Chayse Dellarocco had 2 hits and an rbi, Sammi Denihan had 2 hits and scored a run, Sadie Balocca had a single, scored a run, and had an rbi
